Ben Cheikh said to NY Times. “I couldn’t send artists to the middle of nowhere. But also because Muslims, Christians and Jews have lived here in peace for the last 2,000 years or so. I’m not here to aggravate anyone, but to consolidate this aspect, which I find beautiful, and together with the natural beauty of the village, provides the artists with a unique canvas.”
What a great idea. I hope more villages and cities in the world come together to do this same art on neighborhoods in their home towns. People have come from all over to enjoy this art.
This must be the ACE Hardware of the village. A little bit of everything.
