This is a sport of the wealthy in Oatar The sport of Falconry began over 5,000 years ago in Iran. The sport was introduced to Qatar through Bedouin tribes who used the birds as a tool for hunting. It was easier to let the Falcons take down birds migrating than to shoot them. The best Falcons cost thousands of dollars. They can even be issued their own passports to ensure they are not stolen or taken out of the country without the owners permission. Beautiful Falcon It is not unusual to find a Falcon aboard an airliner traveling with their owner in the Middle East. DSC_7627 DSC_7630 Falcon Hospital Waiting room at the Falcon Hospital.
