Local guide and Frankincense Tree
Frankincense is a resin from trees belonging to the Boswell family. The trees have an outer bark that peel away like parchment flakes and a greenish bark which contains the trees sap and aromatic resin.
Frankincense is called the Pearls of the desert. It is collected by making an incesion in the tree and allowing the resin to flow and harden - collecting hardened resin that has flowed naturally from the tree.
