Tajikistan

The area below is still part of the old city as redevelopment has not moved into this area of the new Plaza and Independence and Freedom Tower area. You can see what the city looked like previous before all the new construction.

Constructed over ten years at a cost of $93 million, Dushanbe Central Mosque is the largest mosque in Tajikistan and one of the largest in Central Asia. The Mosque and surrounding areas boast a maximum capacity of 120,000 for large events, with the Mosque itself able to accommodate around 25,000.
